SHELTERS |
 |
The MECC undoubtedly offers the most robust line
of deployable ablution units available to the world’s armed
forces today. 100% ISO compatibility, inherent in the design of
this expandable container, maximises the users’ deployment
alternatives for land sea and air. The ’5 and 5’ with its
integrated mechanical room provides a field ready shower/toilet
module, which is fully operational once connected to a power and
water source and effluent catchment. |
 |
The VLAS Armadillo is a variation of Ably Shelters’
hugely popular Very Large Area Shelter. A rugged, soft wall,
self-erect 2nd line helicopter maintenance shelter,
it features overhead crane capability and full width pram hood
type doors at each end, hence the armadillo resemblance.
|
 |
Configuration flexibility of the MECC has
resulted in its selection as the preferred building block for
the tactical Command Headquarters of many deployed armed forces.
The United States Marine Corps (USMC), traditionally perceived
as a light force forward deployer, has adopted the MECC Command
Post to facilitate the rapid placement of its fully functional
MEF and FSSG field headquarters. |
 |
The Covertex AirHangar is a compact, rapidly assembled,
modular structure for the maintenance of helicopters in harsh
environments. The design includes a built in floor and
connections for air conditioning and provides a dust free and
controlled environment. |
 |
A range of shelters are available
from single shower units to mass decontamination units. |
 |
Extenda provides additional covered working areas at the side of
traditional ISO containers. A single Extenda can be used to
provide a simple shelter, or two Extendas can be used with a
side opening container to form part of a gym or workshop. |
 |
An innovative range of lightweight high packing density
components has been developed to address the tactical shelter
needs of today’s mobile defence forces. Where speed into action,
rapid deployment and low logistics costs are essential, LHPD
is the solution. |
 |
The LVRE (Lightweight Very Rapid Erect) is readily
transportable, mobile field shelter. It is a truly integrated
system specifically designed for the upkeep of aircraft on
forward deployment for extended periods. Its primary use is in
mission preparation, pre and post flight inspection, to carry
out minor rectification and to protect sophisticated aircraft
systems from the full range of harsh environments. |
 |
The
MERC has proven to be an ideal Mobile Emergency Response
Centre, owing to its rugged construction and ISO transport
capabilities. This enables the centre to be mobilised by air,
land or sea to emergency hot spots, including regions that have
experienced catastrophic seismic activity.
|
 |
Network
centric battlefield demands that communications assets can be
housed in high mobility, modular shelters that are well
insulated, unobtrusive and can be built quickly at a low cost.
Vehicle mounted communications shelters were once the only
option. The NESS (Network Enabling Soft Shelter) now
provides near vehicle mounted performance for a fraction of the
capital or through life costs.
|
 |
The Polygon Hangar is a low cost hangar solution that
provides an airport, airfield or flying club with covered
maintenance or storage facilities. It provides good revenues
that deliver a quick return on investment and long-term income
boost to aid further development. |
 |
The SARA (Small Area Rapid Erect) shelter is an easily
mobilised shelter solution to applications that demand immediate,
weatherproof environments that need to be both reliable and
strong.
|
 |
The TMF (Tyre Maintenance Facility) is a
‘one-stop-shop’ for all military tyres and includes not only a
heavy duty tyre repair machine and a horizontal ‘run flat’
press, but a compressor, all workshop tooling and storage, a
work bench, tyre inflation cage, integral lifting equipment and
heat and air conditioning as well. The TMF is open for business
in two to four hours of arrival on site. The air conditioner,
genset and air compressors are incorporated into an integrated
mechanical room in the rear of the facility. |
 |
The MECC single-side expandable is a very
efficient solution for a one-wing Triage Post as the design
provides a full length wall for storing and dispensing medical
supplies and has approximately 250 ft² (23.23m²) of assessment
and treatment area when the single wing of the MECC is expanded. |
 |
Ably’s modular Diamond® beam components are employed to rapidly
self-build VLAS (Very Large Area Shelters) – giving
ultimate flexibility to expand, reduce and relocate your
operations in line with changing business requirements. |
 |
We have recently developed the Deployable Engineering Workshop
for the Royal Engineers. It uses a combination of a VLAS
structure and Extendas to provide the Army with an extremely
capable expeditionary workshop. |
|
LOGISTICS |
 |
The concept is simple: Twelve of these metal boxes with forklift
pockets fit into a standard ISO container. This enables easier
dissemination of loads and smaller storage units. |
 |
The Vers-a-SledTM is a versatile sled that revolutionizes
the loading and unloading of containers, especially awkward
shaped and high value, specialist goods. |
|
ANCILLARIES |
 |
The ABFABS (Ably Flood Attenuation
Barrier system) is a modular system comprising of steel frames
supporting fabric receptacles. |
 |
We provide a range of insulated refrigerated cold storage ISO
containers. These containers can be supplied with or without
DROPS hooks and are suitable for medicinal as well as food
storage. |
 |
We can provide ground sheets with all of our structures usually
incorporating a keder system which ensures an excellent seal
between the sheets of the tent and the ground sheet. |
 |
Our gymnasiums use both soft and hard wall shelters to
provide excellent air-conditioned gymnasiums for expeditionary
forces. We can provide facilities to cater for individual
sub-units up to Brigade locations.
|
 |
RACUII (Relocatable Air-conditioning Unit) – One standard
container with 2 A/C units. Just plug into a FEPS and chill out.
|
 |
Ably Shelters developed ReSPACU (Re-Locatable Self
Powered Air Conditioning Unit) to meet the demanding
requirements of the MOD for a small footprint, highly mobile,
robust, almost instant power, heat, light and AC supply for
large shelters. |
 |
By using a sun-shade over any structure air condition efficiency
can be improved by up to 20% saving on air-conditioning energy
consumption and reducing running costs. |
